Morning Journal Prompts
How to Use These Prompts
The full breakdown: which days to use them, how much to write, and what to do when a prompt hits harder than you expected.
Before you start
A Few Things Worth Knowing First
Read This Before Day One
- You do not have to write a lot. Some mornings three sentences is all you have. That is enough. The consistency of showing up matters more than the length of what you write. Three sentences every morning for a month will change something. A perfect journal entry once a week will not.
- Write before your phone. This is the only rule that actually matters. The prompt you need is already on the list. Your phone will take you somewhere else before you have had a single minute inside your own head. Journal first. Everything else after.
- Do not edit yourself. The journal is not for an audience. Write the ugly version. Write the thing you would not say out loud. Write the feeling you are embarrassed to have. The unedited version is the one that actually heals something.
- You do not have to do them in order. The prompts are organized by category but you can move between them based on what the morning calls for. If a release prompt feels right on day three, use it. The categories are a guide, not a requirement.
- Come back to the hard ones. The prompts that make you want to skip them are usually the ones doing the most work. Note the ones that felt too much and come back to them when you have a little more space. They are saving something for you.

The Seven Categories, Day by Day
31 Prompts Across 7 Categories
You do not need to start on the first of the month. Start today, wherever today lands in the cycle, and let the categories carry you forward one honest morning at a time.
The journal is not where you perform your healing. It is where you actually do it.
